Dubai Chambers Discusses Strategies To Strengthen Trade And Investment Relations With Indian Ambassador

Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, recently met with Sunjay Sudhir, the Indian Ambassador to the UAE. They discussed ways to boost trade and investment ties between Dubai and India. The meeting took place at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, with Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, also present.

Al Mansoori highlighted the commitment to fostering global partnerships for sustainable economic growth. He noted that Indian companies are the largest group of foreign businesses in Dubai, significantly contributing to various sectors. This reflects the ongoing positive momentum in Dubai-India relations.

Strengthening Trade Relations Between Dubai and India

Both parties emphasised the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in trade and investments. Al Mansoori stated: "We are dedicated to strengthening cooperation with countries worldwide to drive sustainable economic development and promote mutual growth." He encouraged businesses in Dubai to form strategic partnerships with Indian counterparts.

The Indian Business Council, operating under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, plays a crucial role in enhancing these trade relations. Al Mansoori stressed the need for collaboration in information technology to advance digital solutions in logistics and aviation sectors.

The meeting also covered the World Logistics Passport initiative launched by Dubai. This initiative aims to expand trade opportunities by facilitating global trade flow, reducing costs, and shortening logistics timelines. It opens new avenues for members to access global markets.

Dubai International Chamber’s extensive network of 33 representative offices worldwide supports Indian businesses in expanding into regional and international markets. This network enhances Dubai’s position as a leading global trade hub.

Opportunities for Indian Entrepreneurs

The discussion highlighted growth opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs in Dubai. The emirate serves as a gateway for expansion into global markets. The chamber’s office in Mumbai is pivotal in attracting Indian investments and aiding Dubai-based companies’ growth in India.

Dubai remains a preferred destination for Indian businesses and entrepreneurs. In 2024, Indian companies accounted for the highest number of new memberships at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, with 16,623 new companies joining.

This meeting reaffirmed the strong economic ties between Dubai and India while exploring new avenues for collaboration. Both sides remain committed to leveraging shared expertise for mutual benefit across various sectors.
