ICC Awards Dubai Chambers For Pioneering Chamber Model Innovation Framework
Dubai Chambers has recently been recognized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for its innovative contributions to the global business community. This accolade was awarded for the development of the Chamber Model Innovation (CMI) framework, a pioneering system aimed at accelerating innovation within chambers of commerce worldwide. The CMI framework is heralded for its ability to enhance the agility and responsiveness of chambers in serving their members, addressing the need for adaptation in a rapidly changing economic environment.
The certificate of honour was presented to Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, by John Denton, Secretary General of the ICC. Denton lauded Dubai Chambers for instigating a significant transformation in how chambers across the globe operate. The CMI framework, launched at the World Chambers Conference in Dubai in 2021, is celebrated as a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to meet the evolving expectations of business communities and navigate global challenges effectively.

Since its inception, Dubai Chambers has conducted 17 training courses on the CMI framework, benefiting 1,511 employees and officials from 638 chambers of commerce internationally. The ICC World Chambers Federation has embraced the CMI framework as a blueprint for designing services for chamber members and customers, as well as for training employees and guiding chambers towards becoming data-driven entities.
Furthermore, the CMI framework has been incorporated into the World Chambers Competition as a main category, introducing an award for ‘Best Chamber Model Innovation Project’. This competition is a key feature of the World Chambers Congress and stands as the sole global awards program that recognizes innovative projects by chambers of commerce.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah commented on this achievement, highlighting how business needs have drastically evolved, especially in light of recent global events such as the pandemic and digital transformation. He emphasized that the CMI initiative sets a new global standard for chamber-commerce member interaction and serves as a model for innovation worldwide. Lootah expressed pride in Dubai's role in sharing innovative ideas and experiences globally, furthering the vision of its leadership.
John Denton reiterated the significant impact of Dubai Chambers' pioneering efforts, stating that they have led to a radical shift in business models among chambers globally and set new benchmarks of excellence within the business sector. The CMI framework, grounded in global best practices, positions chambers to effectively tackle future challenges by becoming more adaptable and flexible in meeting member needs.
