Dubai Chambers Showcases Economic Opportunities To Strengthen Global Partnerships At Diplomatic Circle Event

Dubai Chambers recently held its 12th 'Diplomatic Circle,' attended by over 100 ambassadors, consul generals, and commercial attachés from the UAE. This event aimed to boost economic cooperation between Dubai and the global community. The gathering highlighted Dubai's economic opportunities and the chambers' efforts to enhance trade and investment partnerships worldwide.

Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, addressed the attendees, emphasising the crucial role of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in fostering international collaboration. He noted that these partnerships are vital for achieving shared objectives and have significantly contributed to Dubai's success.

Dubai Chambers Promotes Global Economic Partnerships

Al Ghurair stressed the importance of building a robust network of relationships to position Dubai as a leading global business hub. "Our international partnerships are supported by a growing network of country-specific Business Councils," he stated. By June, there were 55 councils, with 59 meetings held in H1 2024. The goal is to expand their role and number to enhance trade ties with key markets.

The chairman also highlighted the significance of communication and collaboration in addressing challenges posed by a rapidly changing global economy. "Our relationships unlock a world of opportunities," he remarked. This cooperation fosters growth both in Dubai and internationally, supporting mutual ambitions and creating impactful connections between nations.

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, shared insights during a session titled ‘Beyond Borders: Maximising CEPA for Economic Growth.’ He discussed how CEPAs are essential for unlocking trade potential and strengthening the UAE's status as a global business hub.

Al Zeyoudi explained that these agreements drive economic growth by expanding trade networks and deepening relations with key countries. "Our Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement programme reflects our belief in trade as a driver of economic growth," he said. This strategy has led to record trade numbers, confirming the UAE's role as a global trade facilitator.

Dubai Chambers' Achievements

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, presented an overview of the milestones achieved by Dubai Chambers during H1 2024. He outlined plans for the three chambers under its umbrella: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Dubai International Chamber.

The Diplomatic Circle event served as an ideal platform for participants to learn about Dubai's dynamic economy and favourable business environment. It also provided an opportunity to discuss key trends and lay foundations for sustainable mutual growth.

Al Ghurair expressed gratitude to the diplomatic corps for their significant role in advancing Dubai Chambers’ strategic objectives and supporting the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). Their efforts ensure that companies worldwide recognise the promising opportunities available in Dubai.
