Dubai Chamber's New Horizons Initiative Expands Trade Missions To 20 Countries Worldwide
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has broadened its trade missions to 20 countries, focusing on Asia and Africa. This expansion is part of the "New Horizons" initiative, launched in early 2023. The initiative aims to assist Dubai companies in exploring new global markets.
Salem Alshamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, highlighted the initiative's role in enhancing Dubai's economic competitiveness. It aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the Dubai Global initiative, which aim to give Dubai-based companies access to 30 priority markets.

During a trade mission to Georgia on 20th and 21st October, Alshamsi spoke to the Emirates News Agency (WAM). He emphasised that Dubai provides an excellent environment for international growth due to its strong business ecosystem and global connectivity. This makes it an ideal base for companies looking to expand internationally.
The mission included several bilateral meetings between Emirati and Georgian companies. These meetings aimed at enhancing partnerships and cooperation. By the end of 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Georgia reached US$761 million, marking an increase of over 58% from the previous year.
As of June 2025, there were 114 active Georgian companies registered with the Dubai Chamber. This includes 16 new members added in the first half of 2025. The Chamber participated in the mission with 15 Dubai-based companies from various sectors to explore opportunities in Georgia.
Alshamsi noted that Georgia's strategic location, open economy, and pro-business policies make it a promising destination for investors from Dubai. The New Horizons initiative supports member companies' international expansion through workshops, trade missions, and engagements with key global stakeholders.
This initiative provides valuable insights and opportunities for driving international growth. It helps member companies expand their reach by offering support through various activities designed to facilitate global market entry.
