Dubai Chamber Organises Event To Enhance Inclusion Of People Of Determination In Private Sector Workplaces

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, part of the Dubai Chambers group, recently hosted an event to promote the inclusion of People of Determination in the private sector. The session aimed to explore how diverse industries can create suitable working environments for these individuals.

Over 100 participants attended this event, organised by the chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business. It gathered stakeholders to discuss the main challenges faced by People of Determination in workplaces. The session highlighted best practices and potential solutions while sharing experiences from employees with disabilities. This created a platform for discussions on developing strategies for more inclusive and accessible workplaces.

Representatives from Dubai’s Community Development Authority, Dubai Police, and Emirates airline participated in the event. They discussed policy frameworks in Dubai that support integrating People of Determination into workplaces. The discussions also covered best practices in inclusive employment and supportive infrastructure.

Case studies were shared, showcasing effective strategies and successful experiences. Participants learned about the latest innovations and tools designed to help People of Determination perform their tasks efficiently and independently.

One participant shared his personal journey at work, detailing how he overcame challenges with institutional support and facilities provided to him. His story highlighted the importance of backing from organisations in enabling People of Determination to succeed in their roles.
