Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, has announced the formation of the Colombian Business Council. This initiative aims to bolster trade and investment ties between Dubai and Colombia, creating more opportunities for private sector companies in both regions.

The council recently held its first annual general meeting at Dubai Chambers. Participants identified key priorities and discussed plans for upcoming events. The council's activities are designed to enhance economic cooperation between Dubai and Colombia, focusing on sectors with high potential for both business communities.

New Colombian Business Council in Dubai

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, stated, "Business Councils serve as important platforms to enhance cooperation, develop promising opportunities, and build fruitful partnerships. We remain committed to ensuring they contribute to the growth of the private sector and strengthen its contribution to sustainable economic development in Dubai."

The Business Councils under Dubai Chamber of Commerce represent companies and investors from strategically important markets. They play a crucial role in opening new channels of economic cooperation with global business communities and advancing the interests of investors operating in Dubai.

As part of its efforts to support the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), the chamber aims to increase the number of country-specific Business Councils. This strategy is intended to promote foreign trade and support local companies' expansion into international markets.

The Colombian Business Council will focus on identifying sectors with high growth potential in both markets. By doing so, it aims to create joint opportunities that benefit private sector companies in Dubai and Colombia.

Through these initiatives, the chamber seeks to foster stronger economic ties between Dubai and other countries. The goal is to ensure that these councils contribute significantly to sustainable economic development in the emirate.

The establishment of such councils is seen as a strategic move to enhance bilateral relations. It also aims to provide a platform for businesses from different regions to collaborate effectively.

Overall, these efforts are expected to result in increased trade and investment flows between Dubai and Colombia. The focus will be on sectors that offer mutual benefits for businesses in both regions.
