Dubai Chamber Of Commerce To Highlight Digitisation And AI In Promoting Sustainable Business Practices During Sustainability Week 2024
Dubai Chamber of Commerce has outlined the agenda for Sustainability Week 2024, scheduled from 7th to 11th October. The event will focus on digitisation and artificial intelligence's role in promoting sustainable business practices. Organised by the Centre for Responsible Business, this year's programme aims to explore innovative ideas that enhance technology's contribution to sustainability.
The opening day will feature a seminar on AI and digital technologies' impact on sustainability. Ahmad Bin Byat, Founding Chairman and CEO of Zaina Investments, will deliver the keynote address. A panel discussion with experts will delve into using digital solutions and AI to achieve sustainable development goals. Sessions will also cover best practices, supply chain efficiency, and recycling through digital innovations.

This edition of Sustainability Week will highlight AI's role in creating practical sustainability solutions. The goal is to speed up sustainable business practices in the private sector. Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, stated, "We are committed to enhancing the private sector’s ability to contribute effectively to sustainable development."
A special forum during the week will focus on developing digital strategies for the circular economy. This forum includes an interactive simulation and discussions on AI, IoT, and big data analytics. These technologies aim to boost resource efficiency, reduce waste, and improve long-term sustainability.
As part of Sustainability Week 2024, Dubai Chamber of Commerce will host the 12th Arabia CSR and Sustainability Forum. Organised by the Arabia CSR Network under the Ministry of Economy's patronage, it will focus on 'Sustainable Prosperity: Reorienting for a Balanced Future'. This forum aims to foster discussions around achieving balanced growth through sustainable practices.
The programme seeks to examine current trends, best practices, and innovative approaches in leveraging advanced technologies for sustainability across all sectors. The chamber aims to enhance private sector contributions towards sustainable development by focusing on these areas.
