Dubai–Beijing Business Seminar Strengthens Trade And Investment Partnerships For Future Growth
The Dubai–Beijing Business Seminar, organised by Dubai Chambers, aimed to boost trade and investment ties between the two cities. This event sought to create new economic opportunities and foster cooperation in various sectors. The seminar was held at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters in collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing.
Attendees included a Chinese delegation led by Sima Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, along with Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh from the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. The gathering attracted 130 business leaders, officials, and private sector representatives from both regions.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah emphasised their dedication to enhancing economic connections between Dubai and Beijing. He stated, "We remain committed to deepening economic and investment ties between Dubai and Beijing across a broad range of sectors. As part of these efforts, we are continuing to support the Chinese business community in capitalising on the significant opportunities Dubai offers as a gateway for regional and global expansion. Strengthening partnerships and driving collaborative initiatives between our business communities remains a key priority."
Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, presented an overview of Dubai’s economic landscape during the seminar. His presentation highlighted Dubai's competitive advantages for businesses and investors while exploring joint business opportunities between Dubai and China.
The seminar underscored the increasing trade volume between Dubai and China. Non-oil bilateral trade reached approximately AED 296.3 billion in 2024, marking a 19 percent annual growth. By June this year, over 6,000 Chinese companies were registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, showcasing growing interest in Dubai as a global business hub.
Dubai Chambers hosted its first international edition of the Dubai Business Forum in China last August under the theme ‘China, Dubai and Beyond: Igniting Global Trade and Investment.’ This event highlighted strategic initiatives and investment-ready opportunities available for Chinese businesses.
Expanding Collaborative Efforts
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed last year between Dubai Chambers and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing. This agreement aims to enhance trade relations further and strengthen bilateral ties between business communities in both markets.
The seminar served as a platform to showcase promising sectors for trade cooperation while reinforcing existing partnerships. It also provided insights into how both regions can leverage each other's strengths to achieve shared goals.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to deepen economic collaboration between these two dynamic regions. By fostering such partnerships, both cities aim to unlock new avenues for growth across diverse industries.
