Dubai Basketball And Shabab Al Ahli Forge Partnership To Boost Sport's Excellence

Dubai Basketball, a newly formed sports franchise, has entered into a cooperation agreement with Shabab Al Ahli Club. This partnership aims to exchange coaching and administrative expertise, host training camps and tournaments, and share sports facilities. The agreement was signed by Majid Sultan bin Sulaiman, CEO of Shabab Al Ahli Club, and Salem bin Dasmal, President of Dubai Basketball.

Salem bin Dasmal praised the collaboration with Shabab Al Ahli Club, noting that it signifies a new era for local basketball development. He emphasised the partnership's goal to enhance the technical skills of Dubai Basketball's players and enrich the experience of their administrative and technical staff. He also highlighted the importance of promoting sports for community building, public health improvement, and instilling positive values.

New Era for Dubai Basketball with Shabab Al Ahli

The broader aim of this collaboration is to increase awareness about basketball's technical aspects and boost its popularity across various age groups. The agreement will enable joint training camps and allow Dubai Basketball to use Shabab Al Ahli Club's facilities for their training sessions.

Dubai Basketball has received approval from the European League to participate in the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) League starting from the 2024-2025 season. The ABA League serves as a qualifying tournament for the EuroLeague, which is considered the second most important basketball league globally after the NBA in North America.

The home games for Dubai Basketball will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena, which can accommodate 15,000 spectators. Meanwhile, Shabab Al Ahli Club will host the team's training sessions at their facilities.

Majid Sultan bin Sulaiman expressed that this agreement will open new avenues for both clubs to exchange expertise. He believes it will significantly contribute to enhancing Shabab Al Ahli's basketball programme, aiming for further success at the regional level. This comes especially after securing the runner-up position in the 2024 Asian Basketball Championship.

Administrative Support

The collaboration between Dubai Basketball and Shabab Al Ahli Club also focuses on administrative support. By sharing knowledge and resources, both clubs aim to improve their operational efficiency and effectiveness in managing basketball activities.

Dubai Basketball is licensed by the UAE Basketball Association and Dubai Sports Council. It was founded by Abdulla Saeed Al Naboodah with a vision to elevate basketball standards in the region.

This partnership marks a significant step towards advancing basketball locally by leveraging shared resources and expertise. It underscores both clubs' commitment to fostering talent and promoting sports within their communities.
