Mohammed Al Emadi, the Director General of the Dubai Autism Centre, detailed the campaign's agenda, which includes Ramadan awareness nights, workshops aimed at mainstream educators, and informative sessions for entities in both public and private sectors. Additionally, the initiative will offer complimentary early autism screenings and evaluations for individuals with autism and developmental challenges.

To maximize reach, the campaign will leverage mass media channels, cinemas, and an extensive network of 2,000 digital displays throughout the UAE. The Dubai Autism Centre expressed its appreciation for the backing from its partners and sponsors like wasl Asset Management Group, Emirates Islamic Bank, Dubai Holding, and Dubai Investments.

A special Ramadan evening event is planned to emphasize the importance of familial support and to strengthen bonds between parents and their children with autism. Workshops are also scheduled to educate staff at private schools on effective interaction techniques with students on the autism spectrum.

Ashok Namboodiri, Chief Business Officer of Zee Entertainment Middle East, highlighted the significant role media plays in supporting this campaign and enhancing autism awareness. In commemoration of Autism Awareness Day, iconic landmarks in Dubai such as the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab will be illuminated in blue.

Since its inception in 2001, the Dubai Autism Centre has been dedicated to raising public awareness about autism and providing comprehensive consulting, educational, and therapeutic services. The annual autism awareness campaign launched on World Autism Awareness Day is pivotal in educating individuals and organizations on engaging with people with autism effectively.

In 2017, to accommodate the growing demand for its services, the Centre inaugurated its largest facility in the region. This state-of-the-art facility boasts classrooms, therapy clinics, sensory rooms, and medical clinics designed to offer an optimal educational setting for children with autism.

Autism spectrum disorder is a neurological condition that impacts social interaction, communication skills, and behavior. Recent studies indicate that one in 36 children is affected by ASD. Through its initiatives, the Dubai Autism Centre aspires to transform Dubai into a premier global center for special education programs and rehabilitative treatment services for individuals with ASD.
