Dubai Establishes Itself As A Leading Destination For Global Media Production Projects

Dubai has emerged as a leading destination for global media production, thanks to its advanced infrastructure and diverse filming locations. The city offers exceptional support services, including 24-hour filming permits, catering to the needs of the fast-growing industry. Plus Studio has resumed filming the third installment of the "Silver Spoon" movie series, titled Silver Spoon in Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Film and TV Commission.

This project marks Plus Studio's first international collaboration, extending its productions into the Middle East and North Africa. Scenes are being filmed against Dubai’s stunning desert landscapes, iconic skyscraper rooftops, and charming historic districts. These locations add excitement and intrigue to the film’s storyline. Dubai has long attracted top-tier production companies and renowned film studios from around the world.

The city has hosted numerous action blockbusters like Kung Fu Yoga, Vanguard, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Star Trek Beyond, and other box-office hits. The Dubai Film and TV Commission provided comprehensive support to Plus Studio and Kinopoisk platform by facilitating necessary permits from government entities and private institutions. This assistance ensures a smooth and effective filming process.

Established in 2012, the Dubai Film and TV Commission aims to enhance Dubai’s position as a global hub for film, TV, and media content production. They coordinate with government authorities, location stakeholders, and other key parties to create a seamless filming environment. The commission is committed to supporting major international productions by leveraging Dubai's advanced infrastructure.

They work closely with dedicated teams such as Dubai Police, Civil Defense, Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, along with private-sector partners like the International Financial Centre, One&Only One Za’abeel resort, Hamdan Sports Complex, and Emaar. This project marks a promising partnership with the Russian market.

Future Releases and Collaborations

Plus Studio is collaborating with Bar Production on Silver Spoon in Dubai. The film is scheduled for release in Russia in 2025 with a later broadcast on Russian streaming platform Kinopoisk. The commission continues its mission to elevate Dubai’s status as a global filmmaking hub by providing world-class facilities such as sound stages at Dubai Studio City.

Dubai has previously served as the backdrop for major international productions like Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Star Trek Beyond, Kung Fu Yoga, Geostorm, Vanguard, Pathaan, and several successful Bollywood films. Plus Studio specializes in content production for Yandex Plus subscribers while investing in co-production projects alongside managing its own projects.

Kinopoisk is one of Russia’s premier online streaming platforms and a key source of film-related content.
