4th Dubai Association Conference: Global Leaders Discuss Future Trends

The Dubai Association Conference, now in its fourth edition, has commenced with a significant gathering of over 250 delegates from across the globe at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event, taking place on 27 February, focuses on pivotal issues such as the influence of artificial intelligence, membership dynamics, disruption management, and fostering community within the association sector. Esteemed attendees include global thought leaders, association executives, government representatives, and industry stakeholders.

One of the highlight sessions was a fireside chat with Hoor Al Khaja from the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing and Hassan Al Hashemi of Dubai Chambers. Moderated by Nikki Walker of MCI, the discussion revolved around associations' increasing influence in global society and their role in fulfilling the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ goals. Topics of innovation and sustainability were also explored.

Dubai Hosts 4th Association Conference

Helal Saeed Almarri emphasized the critical role of the association sector in achieving Dubai's ambition to rank among the top three global urban economies within the next decade. He highlighted how the Dubai Association Conference (DAC) is vital in enhancing Dubai's status as a global business, trade, and investment hub. Almarri also pointed out DAC's efforts in promoting a knowledge-based economy in alignment with D33 objectives.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah shared insights on how Dubai Chambers supports international associations to maximize their economic and social impact. He noted the significance of associations in Dubai's ongoing and future development phases, acknowledging their contribution to attracting new businesses and foreign direct investment (FDI).

The conference theme ‘Value Amplified: Associations Empowering Change’ was introduced during an evening welcome reception at the Grand Hyatt Dubai on 26 February. The opening session titled ‘Member Magnetism: Attraction and Retention’ provided real-life examples of how associations have evolved to meet member needs. Other sessions addressed resilience in facing disruptions and shared experiences of navigating an association in Dubai. The importance of creating vibrant communities through trust and empathy was also discussed.

The event is set to conclude on 28 February with discussions on artificial intelligence benefits for associations, leadership potential unlocking, future work trends, and achieving association goals. Esteemed speakers include Mike van der Vijver, Geneviève Leclerc, Martin Sirk, and Amy Hissrich. Additionally, association leaders such as Hoda Barakat, David Macadam, Mohamed Mezghani, and Philip K. Bell are contributing their expertise.
