Dubai Airshow 2025 Opens Tomorrow With Focus On Aerospace Innovation And Sustainability
Under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Airshow will take place from 17 to 21 November at Dubai World Central. The event, themed ‘The Future is Here,’ will gather global industry leaders to shape the future of aerospace and defence. This 19th edition is expected to be the largest yet, showcasing investment opportunities and emerging technologies.
The airshow has become a premier global platform for innovation and collaboration. It highlights advancements in airport development and breakthrough technologies. The event attracts top industry players annually, offering insights into the latest trends and innovations. This year, more than 1,500 exhibitors, including 440 new ones, will participate alongside 148,000 trade visitors and 490 military and civil delegations from 115 countries.

This year's edition features the largest Space Pavilion ever, organised with the UAE Space Agency. Over five days, it will bring together international space agencies, pioneering companies, startups, investors, and academia. The pavilion aims to address challenges and advance space technology commercialisation. A two-day Space Conference will host over 50 experts discussing responsible space use and future exploration missions.
Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi stated: "Dubai Airshow represents a leading global platform to showcase the remarkable progress the UAE has achieved in the space sector. This is a direct outcome of our efforts to translate the objectives of the National Space Strategy 2030 into reality." He emphasised that this participation reflects growing international confidence in the UAE's space ecosystem.
Major General Mubarak Saeed bin Ghafan Al Jabri noted: "Dubai Airshow serves as a strategic platform to showcase the UAE’s commitment to defence innovation." The event highlights national security through investments in advanced technologies and international partnerships. Elite aerobatic teams will perform flying displays that demonstrate operational excellence and global collaborations.
The airshow will also feature over 200 aircraft in flying and static displays. These include commercial planes, military jets, private aircraft, UAVs, and next-gen technologies like Joby Aviation eVTOLs. New additions such as COMAC C919 and C909 will be part of this extensive showcase.
Conferences and Keynote Tracks
The 2025 edition promises an engaging conference programme with over 450 experts across four stages covering 12 tracks. Topics include MRO (Maintenance Repair Overhaul), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), Passenger Experience, Cybersecurity, Airport Tech, Workforce Development, and more. Paul Griffiths remarked on hosting Airport and Airline Keynotes for the first time: "Dubai Airports is proud to host...united more than 450 influential voices shaping the future of flight."
Sustainability remains a key theme with initiatives like Sustainable Aviation Fuel supply for participating aircraft. Electric ground equipment powered by renewable electricity will be used in partnership with Jetex. The Better Stands Programme promotes reusable stand designs while hydration stations support responsible delivery.
New Experiences at Dubai Airshow
This year introduces night-time sessions extending until 9pm for enhanced industry connections. New experiences include Party on the Runway at Skydive Dubai on Monday and Airshow After Dark on Tuesday with live entertainment. SkyView grandstand offers visitors dynamic aerial performances by elite aerobatic teams alongside food trucks and live shows.
The Inspiration Zone will unite early-stage founders with industry leaders to test ideas and pitch innovations. Meanwhile, Vista returns as a hub for aerospace disruptors driving transformation. The NextGen Leaders programme highlights university research projects led by bright minds shaping aviation's future.
