Dragon Oil Enhances UAE-Egypt Energy Cooperation At EGYPS 2024 In Cairo

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil Company, led a high-level delegation to the Egypt Energy Exhibition and Conference "EGYPS 2024", which is scheduled from 19th to 21st February. This event, under the patronage of Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a significant platform for energy sector professionals. The delegation comprised Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai, members of the Board of Directors, Ali Rashid Al Jarwan, Dragon Oil’s CEO, and other senior officials.

Al Tayer expressed enthusiasm for participating in EGYPS 2024, highlighting it as an opportunity to enhance economic cooperation with Egypt. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to strengthen bilateral relations. He emphasized the strong economic and investment ties between Egypt and the UAE, supported by joint energy sector projects.

Dragon Oil at EGYPS 2024: UAE-Egypt Ties

At EGYPS 2024, Al Tayer inaugurated Dragon Oil’s pavilion and engaged with the company’s Egypt branch officials to discuss project developments and plans for deeper cooperation in energy, particularly in oil and gas sectors. The focus areas include energy transformation, emissions reduction, and decarbonisation.

This year's EGYPS session, themed "Energy Stimulation Securing Supplies, Energy Transition, and Reducing Emissions", will see participation from over 450 companies and feature 12 country pavilions, including one from the UAE. The event is set to host 80 discussion sessions with more than 300 speakers. Notably, Dragon Oil’s CEO and managers will contribute to discussions on global oil and gas industry trends such as prices, supplies, energy transition, emissions reduction, decarbonisation, and hydrogen production.

Dragon Oil Egypt plays a pivotal role in petroleum production in Egypt. As part of the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), it focuses on research, exploration, and production in the Gulf of Suez. The company is committed to sustainable strategies, ambitious plans, training programs, and continuous development to achieve its goals in Egypt.
