Dr. Abdulkader Sankari And Sons Group Joins Lebanon Education Continuity Project For Displaced Children

The Lebanon Education Continuity Project, initiated by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), is receiving support from Dr. Abdulkader Sankari and Sons Group through the Human Aid and Development Organisation (HAND). This project, delivered via the Digital School, aims to provide uninterrupted learning for children in displacement centres in Lebanon whose education has been disrupted.

In October 2024, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directed the launch of education support programmes in Lebanon through the Digital School. The initiative aligns with a campaign led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to aid the Lebanese people. The project offers digital content aligned with Lebanon's official curriculum and smart solutions for offline access.

Sankari Group Supports Lebanon Education Initiative

HAND Organisation will manage on-site implementation within displacement and refugee centres in Lebanon. They will use their experience in supporting vulnerable families and providing sustainable solutions in education, child protection, food security, and shelter. HAND's partnership with the Digital School reflects a shared commitment to collaborative efforts for educational support.

Dr. Abdulkader Sankari, Chairman of HAND Organisation's Board of Trustees, stated, "The Lebanon Education Continuity Project reflects His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for the transformative power of education in empowering children, ensuring their educational journey continues regardless of circumstance. We hope our contribution will positively impact the present and future of Lebanese students, and we look forward to continued collaboration with MBRGI to improve lives regionally and globally."

Dr. Waleed Al-Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, emphasised the project's importance amid Lebanon's current challenges. He noted that it aligns with leadership's vision to mobilise resources for Lebanon's education sector to prevent prolonged disruptions. This effort is crucial to minimise dropout risks among children in refugee centres.

The 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign began in early October 2024 under the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council's supervision. It has seen widespread community involvement from diverse nationalities, including Sheikhs, Ministers, dignitaries, and business leaders contributing at collection centres across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah.

MBRGI’s Commitment to Education

Education is a key priority for MBRGI as it recognises its role in advancing societies by investing in human capital. The organisation has launched numerous programs to support education in developing countries by combating illiteracy, training teachers, building facilities, and offering vocational training for underprivileged communities.

MBRGI also focuses on enlightening Arab youth through programs promoting reading and knowledge acquisition. These initiatives aim to build a solid foundation of awareness among new generations to prepare them for future challenges.

The project aims to equip study halls with necessary resources like devices and stationery while providing heating facilities. This comprehensive approach ensures students can catch up on their studies effectively despite challenging circumstances.
