Douglas Gautier Takes Leadership Role As CEO Of Royal Arts Complex At King Salman Park

The Ministry of Culture has appointed Douglas Gautier as the CEO of the Royal Arts Complex at King Salman Park in Riyadh. Gautier will manage the complex and develop its cultural programs, leveraging his global experience in cultural asset management. This appointment is part of the ongoing development of the complex, which aims to be a dynamic cultural landmark in Riyadh.

Gautier's extensive career spans over four decades, during which he has significantly impacted the global artistic landscape. His leadership roles have included serving as CEO and Artistic Director of the Adelaide Festival Centre in Australia. There, he founded the OzAsia Festival, a prominent platform for cultural exchange between Australia and Asia.

Gautier Named CEO of Royal Arts Complex

The Royal Arts Complex is designed to foster creativity and unite diverse artistic expressions. It promotes cultural dialogue by providing exceptional experiences that reflect Saudi Arabia's cultural aspirations. The complex aims to attract both local and international audiences through its engaging environment.

Covering more than 500,000 square meters, the complex includes seven key cultural assets: the Museum of World Cultures, National Theater, Arts Library, Arts Cinema, Sculpture Pavilion, Dome, and Royal Institute of Traditional Arts. These facilities offer a comprehensive cultural experience embracing diverse art forms.

The Royal Arts Complex aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives by advancing the artistic landscape and supporting the creative economy. It aims to foster new opportunities for artists and cultural enthusiasts while establishing a globally connected cultural ecosystem.

Leadership and Experience

He has chaired the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centers (AAPPAC) since 2013. Gautier is recognized for broadening access to arts through innovative programs rooted in diversity and creativity while strengthening international partnerships for global exchange.
