Dock & Dine Initiative Launched To Elevate Dubai’s Status As A Premier Yachting Destination
The Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) have introduced the Dock & Dine initiative. This strategic move aims to boost short-stay yachting visits, positioning Dubai as a top global yachting destination. The initiative includes 20 marinas and marine stations, advancing the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, to strengthen Dubai's status as a leading business and leisure hub.
Dock & Dine caters to those seeking short docking stays with waterfront dining experiences. Yacht owners, crews, and guests can access a curated selection of restaurants, luxury hotels, cultural attractions, and entertainment directly from marinas. Guests can sail between docks and restaurants within a convenient 45-minute to one-hour radius.

The initiative offers free moorage at participating marinas and marine stations. It features rapid booking responses with reservation windows from five minutes to an hour. Direct communication with restaurants for table arrangements is also available. Dedicated dock tenders ensure smooth drop-off and pick-up processes.
Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, CEO of DMA, stated: "The Dock & Dine initiative represents the forward-thinking approach that has defined Dubai’s maritime development. With strong guidance from our visionary leadership and a spirit of close cooperation between government and industry partners, we have harmonised marina regulations and enhanced operational processes across the board."
Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), part of DET, remarked: "This initiative marks a pivotal moment in Dubai’s maritime journey and is a testament to visionary leadership that has transformed Dubai into a global yachting hub." He highlighted how connecting marinas with dining enriches Dubai's value proposition as an international yacht tourism base.
The Dock & Dine programme simplifies access to amenities during peak winter months from October to April. During this time, Dubai's calm waters, warm climate, and vibrant events attract international visitors seeking culinary and maritime adventures. With over 4,000 berths across its marina network, Dubai accommodates various vessels from pleasure crafts to superyachts.
The marinas involved in Dock & Dine include Al Seef Marina, Bulgari Marina, Creek Marina Yacht Club, Dubai Islands Marina, among others. This initiative highlights the synergy between yachting and gastronomy sectors by offering signature waterfront dining experiences amid growing global recognition for Dubai's food offerings.
This concept showcases Dubai's progress in developing a nautical ecosystem through government-private sector collaboration. The city's marinas provide advanced maintenance facilities, marine services, specialty shops, and wellness centres for yachting enthusiasts.
Dubai's strategic location between East and West ensures seamless arrival for foreign-flagged vessels with simplified entry procedures and tailored visa packages allowing up to six-month stays in local waters. This enhances the arrival experience for international yachts visiting the city.
The launch underscores strong synergy between yachting and gastronomy sectors as guests enjoy signature waterfront dining experiences amid increasing global recognition for Dubai’s vibrant food offerings.
