The new facilities are designed to minimise manual handling and improve real-time visibility. They incorporate scalable automation and modular architecture for future technology upgrades. Sustainability features are integrated to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact over the long term.

In Erbil, a $15 million investment is funding the construction of a 20,000 m² cargo facility. Set to open in July 2025, this development will boost dnata's handling capacity by 300 percent to 66,000 tonnes annually within Iraq.

Clive Sauvé-Hopkins, CEO of dnata’s Airport Operations, stated: "As supply chains evolve and customer expectations shift, we’re focused on investing in infrastructure that’s fit for purpose today and adaptable for tomorrow." He added that these investments emphasise automation and energy efficiency to better support customers in a dynamic logistics environment.

In Dubai South, dnata Logistics is developing a new cargo centre covering 57,000m². With a $27 million investment backing this project, it aims to process up to 400,000 tonnes of cargo annually by the end of 2025. The warehouse will be fully temperature-controlled with efficient racking systems and loading areas.

Technological Advancements in Cargo Handling

The Amsterdam facility will feature a forklift guidance system for optimised cargo movement within the warehouse. It will also conduct comprehensive weight and dimension checks on all shipments to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Dnata's strategic investments reflect its commitment to enhancing operational efficiency through advanced technology and sustainable practices. These developments are set to significantly bolster its global logistics operations by providing adaptable solutions for evolving industry demands.
