DMCC Enhances UAE-UK Technology Trade Relations During London Roadshow
The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) recently hosted a roadshow in London to enhance the UAE-UK partnership in technology sectors like AI, Web3, and gaming. This event aimed to inform British business leaders, government officials, and investors about the expanding opportunities for trade and collaboration. It also highlighted DMCC's unique advantages as a business district and Dubai's status as a leading hub in the MENA region.
The economic relationship between the UAE and the UK is gaining momentum, with the UAE becoming one of the UK's fastest-growing trading partners outside Europe. This partnership is increasingly focused on future-oriented sectors such as technology, advanced services, and sustainability. DMCC plays a crucial role in enabling these sectors to thrive.

Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, stated that "The UAE and the UK enjoy a long-standing and dynamic trade relationship, with more than £25 billion in bilateral trade in goods and services recorded last year. Today, that partnership is evolving rapidly – extending beyond traditional sectors into cutting-edge areas such as AI, Web3, fintech and climate tech." This evolution marks a new era of growth opportunities by leveraging Dubai and London's strengths as global innovation hubs.
DMCC hosts over 2,130 British companies, representing more than 42 percent of all British businesses operating in the UAE. The centre provides essential infrastructure for these companies to succeed. The recent roadshow reinforced DMCC's position as a natural base for British businesses within the UAE.
This visit to London is part of DMCC's global outreach programme. The initiative targets key markets worldwide that offer untapped collaboration opportunities. With over 25,000 member companies from more than 180 countries contributing 15 percent to Dubai's annual foreign direct investment (FDI), DMCC remains vital for international growth and cross-sector innovation.
The growing UAE-UK partnership is increasingly defined by technology-focused sectors where DMCC plays an enabling role. As home to numerous British companies, DMCC supports their operations by providing necessary infrastructure. This fosters an environment conducive to thriving business activities.
As this collaboration evolves beyond traditional sectors into innovative areas like AI and Web3, both nations are poised for high-growth opportunities. By harnessing Dubai's and London's strengths as innovation hubs, they can unlock new potential for bilateral trade.
