DMCC FinX Launched At 13th Dubai Precious Metals Conference To Transform Trade And Finance

DMCC introduced DMCC FinX at the 13th Dubai Precious Metals Conference, held at Atlantis The Palm. This event gathered over 1,000 leaders from precious metals, finance, policy, and technology sectors to explore the industry's future. Discussions centred on how geopolitical changes, new technologies, and trade routes are reshaping global value chains.

The conference theme was "The Future of Precious Metals: Tariffs, Tokenisation and Trade Flows." It focused on the intersection of precious metals, digital assets, and finance. Keynote speakers included Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Ruth Crowell, Chief Executive of the London Bullion Market Association; and financial commentator Grant Williams.

DMCC FinX Debuts at Dubai Conference

A significant announcement was the launch of DMCC FinX. This initiative aims to connect capital market participants, trade finance professionals, and fintech innovators with DMCC’s network of over 26,000 companies. Built on DMCC’s infrastructure like the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange and partnerships with regulatory bodies such as the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, it will link capital markets to physical supply chains and digital asset ecosystems.

Dr Al Zeyoudi highlighted that the UAE's precious metals sector is vital to its economy. He noted that gold trade reached US$186 billion in 2024. He also mentioned that technologies like tokenisation and blockchain are revolutionising global value movement, positioning the UAE to lead future industry developments.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, stated that the UAE's growing precious metals trade shows strong confidence in Dubai’s business environment. He emphasised that launching DMCC FinX is a step towards integrating trade, technology, and finance to support tokenised markets and enhance Dubai’s role as a global commodities hub.

The event underscored Dubai's status as a leading centre for both physical and digital commodities. Over 1,500 companies are active in DMCC’s gold and precious metals ecosystem. For a decade now, this conference has been a crucial platform for collaboration and insight into industry trends.

The conference received backing from Sam Precious Metals, HMB Gold, World Gold Council, Ahlatci Metal Refinery, Emirates Minting Factory, Suntech Business Solutions DPMS, AKW Consultants and Ashoka Global. This support reflects the sector's dedication to innovation and sustainability.

Senior representatives from major exchanges like the Shanghai Gold Exchange and CME Group participated alongside regulatory bodies such as the World Gold Council and Ministry of Economy. These discussions highlighted Dubai's expanding role as a centre of trust and innovation in the precious metals sector.
