Diriyah Storytelling Festival To Begin On January 30 Featuring Over 150 Experts And Unique Experiences

The Diriyah Season is set to introduce the Diriyah Storytelling Festival on January 30, continuing until February 8. This event, the largest of its kind in the region, will host over 150 speakers and performers who are prominent figures in literature. More than 50 publishing houses and specialised libraries will also participate, making it a significant gathering for literature enthusiasts.

Taking place in Diriyah, the festival spans three key locations: Bujairi Terrace, Bab Samhan Hotel, and Al-Dhawihra Farm. These areas are rich with events and experiences aimed at literature lovers. The festival offers a vibrant platform for interaction with leading experts in the field, allowing participants to delve into the world of novels through various engaging activities.

The festival features an array of enriching workshops covering topics like writing and storytelling, music production, screen aesthetics, book cover design, and adapting novels into animated series or films. Visitors can enjoy a novel fair, a peaceful reading sanctuary, a section for novel publication and signing, and a stage dedicated to storytelling and performing arts.

Unique experiences await visitors, including role-playing adaptations of global cinematic scripts. There are live cooking demonstrations where dishes inspired by famous novels and films are prepared and tasted. A special "Little Storyteller" area focuses on developing children's skills through engaging workshops and theatrical performances.

A highlight of the festival is its inaugural Writers' Retreat. This eight-day event in Diriyah gathers both established and emerging Saudi novelists in a serene setting away from city life. Participants will benefit from intensive courses led by international experts aimed at supporting Saudi storytellers in crafting their narratives.

The retreat takes place under the stars with views of Wadi Safar at Minzal. It provides an ideal environment for creativity and learning. The initiative aims to empower Saudi writers to share their stories globally while fostering their development through expert guidance.
