Diriyah Celebrates Eid Al-Adha 1446 AH With Festive Events For Residents And Visitors

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority marked Eid Al-Adha 1446 AH with a lively series of events, bringing joy to Diriyah. Residents and visitors enjoyed a mix of educational and entertainment activities at various locations. The celebrations began right after the Eid prayers, with the aroma of Saudi coffee and traditional hospitality filling mosques across Diriyah.

In the afternoon, festivities continued in the historic Turaif District and Adhwaihrah. Visitors to Turaif experienced Diriyah's famous hospitality, had their names inscribed in traditional calligraphy, and watched horse shows featuring renowned Arabian breeds. Meanwhile, Adhwaihrah offered a variety of engaging events inspired by historical Hajj and caravan routes.

Diriyah's Joyous Eid Al-Adha Celebrations

The pathways in Adhwaihrah were creatively designed, drawing from historical routes like Dirab Road, Aba Al-Qad Road (now Al-Qiddiya Road), and Sabaa' Al-Malaf Road. Along Dirab Road, the "Diriyah Taste" initiative showcased local flavours through stalls offering traditional dishes made by Diriyah families. This initiative highlighted the community's culinary heritage.

Aba Al-Qad Road captivated visitors with interactive traditional games and an exhibition on Hajj and caravan routes that passed through Diriyah. This historic path connects to "Majlis Diriyah," a symbol of Diriyah during Hajj seasons, once bustling with caravans heading to Makkah for pilgrimage.

On Sabaa' Al-Malaf Road, visitors captured memories at photo booths and participated in henna painting and calligraphy workshops. These activities ensured an unforgettable Eid experience in Diriyah. The celebrations extended into the second day of Eid with a dedicated children's zone offering workshops to spark creativity through activities like colouring landmarks and crafting greeting cards from natural resources.

Adults also engaged in workshops that deepened their appreciation for local heritage. One such session was "Coffee Customs and Etiquette," which highlighted Diriyah’s rich traditions of hospitality. These enriching experiences allowed participants to connect with the cultural roots of the region.

The vibrant Eid Al-Adha celebrations in Diriyah successfully shared festive joy while honouring its cultural heritage. Through diverse activities, both residents and visitors could immerse themselves in the unique traditions that make Diriyah special during this significant occasion.
