Diriyah Biennale Foundation Supports Fatma Abdulhadi's New Work At Taipei Biennial 2025
The Diriyah Biennale Foundation has announced that Fatma Abdulhadi will showcase new work at the 14th Taipei Biennial in 2025. This initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing effort to support Saudi artists on a global platform. The Taipei Fine Arts Museum also contributed to the production of Abdulhadi's work.
Abdulhadi's installation, titled 'What Remains: Stay as Long as You Can,' transcends the concept of a physical garden. It builds upon her earlier piece, 'I Wish You in Heaven,' commissioned for the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation. The installation uses layered silkscreen prints and basil scent to evoke cultural symbolism, offering visitors a space for reflection and healing.

Fatma Abdulhadi expressed that her work represents an ongoing universal dialogue. "What Remains: Stay as Long as You Can is, to me, a continuous and universal conversation—an invitation to slow down and recycle memory. In Taipei, the work unfolds as a quiet space for reflection, healing, and connection, where time stretches and stories find new shape," she stated.
Aya Al-Bakree, CEO of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, highlighted their commitment to fostering Saudi talent. "Supporting artists is central to our ambition at the Diriyah Biennale Foundation. We are committed to nurturing Saudi talent and enabling them to engage meaningfully with the international art community," she commented.
The upcoming Taipei Biennial 2025 is themed 'Whispers on the Horizon' and curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath. It will be held at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum from March 15 to June 15, 2025.
