DIHAD Joins Forces With ICRC To Advance Humanitarian Education
The DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation has formalised a partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement, signed on the International Day of Charity, aims to bolster cooperation on humanitarian and educational projects.
Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, who serves as the Roving Ambassador for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the GCC and Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation, signed the MoU. Clare Dalton, Head of Delegation of the ICRC in the UAE, also signed it. The collaboration seeks to address global challenges, improve humanitarian responses, and support vulnerable populations through educational programmes.

The MoU will enable both organisations to combine their expertise to tackle urgent global issues. This includes enhancing humanitarian responses and delivering essential support to those in need. Additionally, they aim to develop educational initiatives that build capacity in regions prone to disasters.
Amb. Dr. AlMadani emphasised their commitment by stating, "Through our partnership with the ICRC, we are reinforcing our dedication to humanitarian efforts and ensuring that our educational programmes effectively reach those in need. We aim to create a lasting positive impact on communities across the globe." This highlights their focus on making a significant difference worldwide.
Dalton underscored education's importance in improving humanitarian efforts. She noted that this MoU is a crucial step towards enhancing humanitarian impact and fostering innovation. The agreement sets a foundation for collaborative educational efforts aimed at empowering communities and training humanitarian workers.
Innovative Programmes for Humanitarian Skills
The collaboration will involve developing innovative programmes designed to enhance humanitarians' skills. DIHAD will integrate its expertise with that of the ICRC to implement effective educational initiatives. These programmes will share knowledge and create specialised training for global professionals.
A key aspect of this partnership is involving the ICRC in significant elements of the master's degree Programme in Sustainable Humanitarian Action at DIHAD Humanitarian College. This integration aims to provide comprehensive education and training for future humanitarians.
The MoU signifies both organisations' dedication to advancing global humanitarian goals while promoting sustainable development through education. By working together, they aim to make a lasting positive impact on communities worldwide.
