Digital Dubai Partners With Microsoft UAE To Enhance AI Skills And Digital Transformation Efforts

Digital Dubai has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft UAE, a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation. This partnership aims to boost collaboration in technological innovations and ensure their effective application. The agreement seeks to integrate government entities, UAE citizens, and Dubai residents.

The signing ceremony took place at the Digital Dubai platform within the Dubai Government Pavilion during GITEX Global 2024. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, signed on behalf of Digital Dubai, while Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, represented Microsoft.

Digital Dubai and Microsoft UAE Join Forces in AI

This agreement highlights Microsoft's dedication to launching an initiative focused on developing skills in artificial intelligence. This initiative supports Digital Dubai's efforts in digital transformation. It aims to enhance future skills by training AI administrative staff and executives responsible for AI strategies within the Dubai government.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori expressed enthusiasm for this collaboration, which strengthens digital transformation in Dubai. He stated, "Our partnership with Microsoft UAE aligns with our approach to building global collaborations to achieve common objectives. It reflects the mutual trust between us and our partners as well as our joint commitment to working together in light of the rapid global changes, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence and industrial revolution technologies in general."

Naim Yazbeck emphasised that artificial intelligence is central to Dubai's vision as a digital city. He said it is vital to equip government employees with necessary technologies and knowledge supporting Dubai's goals. "We are pleased to partner with Digital Dubai to develop skills of national human resources in AI," he stated.

The agreement includes training developers in AI domains and providing content to raise awareness among the public about fundamental AI concepts. This initiative aims to bridge digital skill gaps and prepare individuals for future opportunities.

Al Mansoori added that Dubai remains a key destination for major global companies known for innovation and leadership. "Through this collective journey, these companies, led by Microsoft, have played a significant role in shaping Dubai's digital landscape," he noted.

Yazbeck reaffirmed Microsoft's commitment to empowering government employees for digital transformation. He highlighted their role in improving public service quality and enhancing Dubai's position as a leader in AI innovation.
