Digital Dubai Partners With CIPS To Enhance Strategic Procurement Excellence And Workforce Development

Digital Dubai has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) to enhance strategic procurement and professional growth. CIPS is a globally recognised authority in procurement standards. The agreement was signed by Tariq Al Janahi, CEO of Corporate Enablement Sector at Digital Dubai, and Sam Achampong, Regional Director of CIPS MENA, with Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, present.

The MoU outlines that CIPS will offer applied learning and certification programmes to improve the skills of procurement professionals at Digital Dubai. These training sessions will focus on practical skills, ethics, and international best practices over 18 months. Sessions will be held in Dubai by CIPS experts to ensure high-quality instruction.

Al Mansoori expressed that Digital Dubai is dedicated to developing a skilled government workforce ready for the future. He stated, "Digital Dubai is committed to cultivating a future-ready, highly skilled government workforce equipped to lead with innovation, integrity and efficiency. Our partnership with CIPS will ensure that our teams are trained to the highest global standards in procurement and supply chain management, thus strengthening our ability to serve Dubai’s digital future."

He further noted the importance of collaboration across sectors to keep up with rapid changes and align with their vision for quality enhancement. This approach supports Dubai's goal of being a leading model for digital governance and sustainable development.

Sam Achampong from CIPS MENA highlighted the significance of this partnership in supporting public service innovation. Through this partnership, we will deliver world-class trainings tailored to Dubai’s ambitions and ensure procurement professionals are empowered with the tools, frameworks and confidence to lead transformation."

The MoU includes practitioner-level training sessions such as orientation and competency assessments aligned with international standards. This initiative aims to build national capacity while promoting ethical procurement practices within the government sector.
