DIEZ Welcomes Over 700 Companies Specialising In Artificial Intelligence Across Dubai's Economic Zones

The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has revealed that more than 700 companies focused on artificial intelligence (AI) are now operating in its three economic zones. These zones include Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity. This achievement highlights the success of DIEZ’s AI strategy, which aims to prepare for the future and speed up the adoption of AI technologies.

During Dubai AI Week, organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, this announcement was made at the Museum of the Future and Area 2071 at Emirates Towers. The companies within DIEZ range from startups to multinational corporations, offering a wide array of specialised AI services. This aligns with DIEZ’s strategic goals and supports the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, stated, "The success of this strategy is reflected in the growth of AI-focused companies within DIEZ’s economic free zones, underscoring our commitment to leading in this space by staying ahead of change and leveraging advanced technologies across all areas of operation." This growth demonstrates DIEZ's dedication to being a leader in AI by embracing technological advancements.

DIEZ's AI strategy is built on three main pillars: people, customers, and technology management. These pillars aim to empower human capital through AI tools by enhancing skills and productivity as part of the first pillar; elevate customer experience through smart, data-driven solutions under the second pillar; and establish advanced digital infrastructure to ensure quality, compliance, robust governance, and the effective and sustainable deployment of AI models through the third pillar.

The strategy includes 12 high-impact initiatives covering various critical AI applications. These initiatives focus on autonomous service delivery, improving customer experiences, boosting employee efficiency, and big data analytics. They also involve innovative use cases that aid decision-making and enhance digital infrastructure across all DIEZ free zones.

The diverse range of companies operating within DIEZ showcases its role in advancing AI adoption in line with national strategies. By fostering an environment conducive to innovation and technological advancement, DIEZ reinforces its position as a key player in shaping the future of AI in the UAE.
