Dibba Al Hisn Duo Theatre Festival Showcases Cultural Performances And Workshops
The eighth edition of the Duo Theatre Festival, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, continued its events on Sunday evening at the Dibba Al Hisn Cultural Centre. The festival featured a variety of performances and workshops aimed at celebrating and promoting theatrical arts.
On the third night, the Moroccan play "Life and Dream" was showcased. This performance, by Al Shamat Theatre Company, explored themes of storytelling and memory revival. Written and directed by Bouselham Al Daif, it starred Hind Baloula and Soufiane Naim. The play captivated audiences with its unique narrative approach.

The festival's third day also included the final sessions of the 20th Sharjah Arab Theatre Forum. Held at 5:00 PM, these sessions were themed "Theatre and Life." Emirati director and actor Dr. Khalid Al-Bannai moderated the discussions, which delved into the intersection between theatre and everyday life experiences.
A training workshop titled "Using Puppets in School Theatre" took place on the second day. Conducted at the Dibba Al-Hisn Society for Culture, Arts, and Theatre, it attracted 30 trainees. Lebanese artist Dr. Karim Dakroub led this session, starting with a puppetry demonstration before guiding participants through practical exercises to create a "stick puppet."
Participants in the workshop engaged in crafting their own puppets using various materials. They also imagined stories that brought these creations to life, exploring their aesthetics and meanings. This hands-on experience allowed attendees to delve deeper into the art of puppetry.
At the end of this enriching workshop, festival coordinator Alia Al-Zaabi presented Dr. Karim Dakroub with a certificate of thanks and appreciation for his contributions. This gesture highlighted the festival's commitment to recognising talent and dedication in theatrical arts.
