Diaverum Expands Operations In UAE To Provide Advanced Renal Care Solutions
Diaverum, a prominent name in renal care, has announced its expansion into Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Acquired by M42 in 2023, the company aims to introduce advanced technology and personalised care for kidney patients in the UAE. This move is part of Diaverum's strategy to broaden its presence in the Gulf region, offering diverse treatment options such as hemodialysis, holiday dialysis, and home dialysis.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) poses a significant global health challenge, affecting around 10% of the world's population. It is expected to become the fifth leading cause of death by 2040. In the UAE, 16.4% of adults have diabetes, a major contributor to kidney failure. The nation also grapples with lifestyle issues like obesity, which can exacerbate CKD rates.

Diaverum plans to leverage M42's Global Patient Care platform and digital healthcare capabilities to revolutionise traditional renal care models. The focus will be on precision and preventive approaches for healthier lives. Collaborations with M42’s Imperial College London Diabetes Centre aim to address diabetes, a primary cause of CKD.
Ziyad Kabli, Chief Operating Officer for Diaverum Middle East & Africa, stated that entering the UAE is a significant step in their mission to transform renal care globally. He emphasised blending high standards of care with AI-driven treatments and M42's patient care platform to innovate renal care in the UAE.
Dr. Ali Anees, Chief Operating Officer for Global Patient Care in the UAE and Bahrain, remarked on Diaverum’s entry into the UAE as part of M42’s commitment to world-class renal care. He highlighted plans to disrupt traditional healthcare models using AI, genomics, and tech-powered solutions for precise renal care.
Dimitris Moulavasilis, CEO of Diaverum, noted that their entry into the UAE market aligns with familiar grounds due to their association with M42. The company aims to establish a resilient ecosystem focused on patient-centric and AI-enabled renal care for CKD patients.
Addressing Regional Healthcare Challenges
The expansion reflects Diaverum's dedication to tackling rising healthcare challenges related to chronic kidney diseases in the Middle East. By integrating high standards of care with innovative solutions, they aim to create a sustainable future-focused renal care landscape prioritising quality and sustainability.
Diaverum operates 450 clinics across 24 countries with 13,500 healthcare professionals dedicated to enhancing life quality for CKD patients through personalised care. Their mission is supported by an evolving digital infrastructure and a culture centred on True Care.
This strategic move underscores Diaverum's commitment to improving patient outcomes through personalised treatment options while addressing regional healthcare needs effectively.
