Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque Welcomes Over 15 Million Visitors In 2025 Amid Facility Upgrades

Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque in Madinah welcomed more than 15 million visitors during 2025, following a wide programme of upgrades. The works targeted pilgrims and umrah performers, with a focus on smoother movement, higher comfort, and stronger service readiness across the entire mosque complex.

The mosque’s reception capacity now exceeds 15,000 worshippers at one time, supported by expanded facilities and improved organisation. Officials report that both the internal areas and outer courtyards are better prepared for peak seasons, helping visitors perform rituals with greater ease and clarity.

Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque Welcomes 15 Million Visitors

The Madinah Region Development Authority led these initiatives in partnership with the Pilgrim Experience Program and other agencies. The work aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which places strong emphasis on services for pilgrims and visitors, and seeks higher operational efficiency at key religious sites across the Kingdom.

A major focus of the Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque project in Madinah was basic services. More than 1,300 restrooms and ablution facilities were developed and rehabilitated, improving cleanliness and access. Courtyards and interior spaces saw human-centred adjustments, which strengthened organisational and operational readiness for large daily crowds.

Infrastructure inside Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque in Madinah also changed significantly. Over 100 water distribution points were added in the courtyards. The lighting network was modernised with about 7,000 units, while the audio system gained 190 advanced speakers and amplifiers, helping sermons and guidance reach worshippers more clearly.

Surfaces and circulation areas at Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque in Madinah received extensive treatment. More than 2,400 square metres of prayer carpets were laid. Over 12,000 square metres of marble and porcelain flooring were rehabilitated across halls and courtyards, supporting comfort, cleanliness, and safe walking for large numbers of users.

Wayfinding, comfort, and access were also strengthened at Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque in Madinah. More than 30 directional signs were installed to support guidance. Over 40 fans and more than 50 lighting poles improved courtyard conditions. Around 480 dedicated bus parking spaces were prepared, easing traffic management and facilitating smoother visitor entry and exit.
