Dubai Health Authority Showcases AI Innovations And Diagnostic Integration In Healthcare

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Roche Diagnostics Middle East recently organised a workshop called "NABIDH Elevate." This event focused on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and diagnostic integration in transforming Dubai's healthcare system. The NABIDH platform, which stands for Network & Analysis Backbone for Integrated Dubai Health, is set to include imaging data soon, reflecting Dubai's dedication to digital health innovation.

NABIDH has achieved a major milestone by consolidating over 9.47 million patient records and linking more than 1,300 healthcare facilities. Currently, 81% of healthcare professionals in Dubai are actively using this platform. It allows easy access to complete medical histories, including diagnostics, facilitating personalised and informed care for patients.

Mona Bajman, CEO of the Shared Support Services Sector at DHA, emphasised AI's revolutionary impact on healthcare. She stated, "Artificial intelligence represents a true revolution in the healthcare sector, enhancing the quality of services provided to patients, streamlining administrative and medical processes, enabling early disease diagnosis, and improving treatment outcomes for patients."

Bajman also highlighted DHA’s dedication to adopting advanced smart solutions that align with Dubai’s health sustainability goals. She noted that initiatives like NABIDH have significantly improved healthcare services by connecting facilities and providing comprehensive data to stakeholders. This approach supports informed decision-making that benefits patient treatment plans and strengthens the competitiveness of the healthcare system.

The DHA is continuously working to enhance the NABIDH platform by integrating diagnostic data. This effort aims to advance the unified patient medical record initiative in Dubai. Such integration aligns with DHA’s strategic goal of improving patient outcomes and streamlining service delivery within the healthcare sector.

Bajman pointed out that NABIDH offers a secure environment for exchanging reliable health data. It enables both public and private sector providers to access unified patient records while maintaining high standards of privacy, accuracy, and efficiency. Dr. Mohammed Al Redha, Director of DHA’s Health Informatics and Smart Health Department, discussed the strategic importance of NABIDH. He said, "Integrating diagnostics, imaging, and AI into NABIDH is pivotal to Dubai’s smart healthcare strategy. This expansion supports DHA’s commitment to improving patient outcomes by providing healthcare professionals with real-time, comprehensive insights into patients’ health."
