DGHR Partners With Dubai AI Campus To Enhance AI Workforce Skills And Training Initiatives
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has partnered with the Dubai AI Campus, an initiative of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), to enhance human capital development. This collaboration aims to prepare both public and private sector workforces for future challenges by focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) advancements. The agreement seeks to boost local capabilities in response to global AI trends.
A primary goal of this partnership is to offer training and educational programmes that enable individuals to utilise AI technologies across various sectors. By 2030, the initiative plans to train over 10,000 people, aligning with Dubai's vision of becoming a leading hub for technology and innovation. This effort underscores the commitment to equipping the workforce with essential skills for digital transformation.

Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, emphasised the importance of preparing a future-ready workforce. He stated, "The development of a future-ready workforce is fundamental to Dubai’s ambition of becoming a global leader in technology and innovation. This collaboration between DGHR and DIFC’s Dubai AI Campus underscores the importance of aligning efforts across government entities to equip talent in the public and private sectors with advanced AI capabilities."
Under this agreement, both parties will implement training programmes focused on practical applications. These courses are tailored for specific labour market segments like senior executives and mid-level managers. The programmes include hands-on training, practical projects, career mentorship, residency training, and networking opportunities to build strong professional relationships among participants.
The 'AI for Civil Service' programme is a key initiative aimed at enhancing government employees' skills in generative AI technologies. Participants will present innovative ideas evaluated by a committee from DIFC, Udacity, and industry experts. The programme also offers knowledge sharing and mentoring sessions.
Commitment to Innovation and Economic Growth
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General of DGHR, highlighted the significance of this partnership in empowering employees across sectors. He said that investing in human capital is crucial for achieving leadership's vision in global innovation and technology. Al Falasi added that this collaboration ensures economic sustainability and competitiveness while fostering an environment based on innovation and excellence.
The agreement aligns with Dubai's vision for global leadership in technology and digital transformation. It supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) by developing a sustainable knowledge economy through advanced global technologies. This cooperation aims to enhance institutional performance and improve workplace environments.
Furthermore, the partnership focuses on hosting seminars, workshops, producing scientific content, and sharing research on AI applications in human resources management. It also promotes joint efforts in supporting tech initiatives and events held in Dubai.
This collaboration represents a shared vision among DGHR, DIFC, and Dubai AI Campus to foster government-led innovation while preparing leaders with skills needed for future challenges.
