DEWA Advises Customers On Essential Precautions For Rainy Season Safety

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has advised its customers to adopt preventive steps to maintain a steady electricity supply during the rainy season. DEWA stressed that adhering to their guidelines can help avert problems caused by water entering electrical systems. This initiative is part of DEWA’s commitment to ensuring high service reliability and customer safety amid changing weather conditions.

DEWA underlined the necessity of employing certified electrical technicians for regular maintenance and inspections. This ensures all external connections and meter panels are water-resistant and properly insulated, reducing the risk of interruptions or electrical short circuits.

DEWA's Rainy Season Safety Precautions

The recommendations include sealing electrical panels tightly, replacing damaged meter glass, and closing any openings in rooftop conduits to prevent water ingress. Regular checks of earthing cables are also advised to ensure a safe and continuous power supply.

Customers are encouraged to use DEWA’s Smart Response service via its app or website to identify outage causes. If the issue is internal, contacting building maintenance or an authorised technician is recommended. For external issues related to DEWA’s network, customers should call 991 for assistance.

A technical team will be dispatched promptly to restore power safely if the problem lies within DEWA's network. This approach ensures efficient handling of outages, maintaining service continuity during adverse weather conditions.

DEWA also advises following their official social media channels for updates and tips on maintaining stable electricity supply during the rainy season. These platforms provide valuable information on preventive measures to avoid internal malfunctions.

This awareness campaign by DEWA aims to uphold service standards while enhancing customer preparedness for weather changes. By taking these precautions, customers can ensure uninterrupted power supply and minimise potential disruptions caused by rain-related issues.
