DEWA Triumphs With Overall Business Agility Award From Agile Business Consortium

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been honoured with the Agile Business Consortium award in the Overall Business Agility category, marking the highest level of recognition. This award is presented by an independent professional body dedicated to fostering business agility globally.

A technical committee of international experts in business agility conducted a comprehensive evaluation across 10 categories. These categories encompassed various aspects such as human resources, finance, marketing, contracts, sales, and overall business agility. The assessment criteria focused on DEWA’s culture, leadership, governance, operations, customer and employee value addition, business support, ecosystem, and strategy.

DEWA Wins Business Agility Award

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, accepted the awards at DEWA’s head office. Present at the ceremony were Waleed Bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence; Ali Al Muwaijei, Vice President of Governance, Compliance and Agility; along with members of the governance team.

Al Tayer stated that their efforts are guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision. He emphasised enhancing agility and resilience to keep pace with changes by institutionalising these qualities across their operations. "We keep pace with the Dubai Government Excellence Strategy and national priorities," he said. "This contributes to sustainable development and long-term prosperity for Dubai and the UAE."

To boost agility and future readiness, DEWA employs solar energy for electricity production while exploring new energy sources. Key projects include the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Green Hydrogen Project, and a pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in Hatta using clean energy.

Waleed Bin Salman highlighted their proactive approach to adapting to internal and external factors. "We enhance our readiness by monitoring emerging trends," he said. "We gather facts and figures to understand our environment better." He added that they consider various corporate scenarios based on these trends to exceed stakeholder expectations.
