PMI, established in 1969, is a non-profit professional membership association for project and program managers. It boasts over 2.9 million members globally. The conversation centred on utilising PMI's vast expertise to boost DEWA’s sustainability, innovation, and operational efficiency initiatives.

DEWA Partners with PMI for Project Management Growth

Al Tayer reiterated DEWA’s commitment to pioneering projects that align with Dubai’s vision for a sustainable future. He emphasised the adoption of advanced technologies and sustainable practices to ensure efficient delivery of transformative energy solutions. The longstanding partnership between DEWA and PMI began in 2010. Initially offering three project management courses, it has grown significantly to include 18 specialised courses. These cover diverse topics such as project management, agility, and artificial intelligence (AI), equipping DEWA's managers with advanced skills.

By the end of 2024, 280 DEWA employees had achieved the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Additionally, 120 professionals obtained other PMI certifications. These achievements reflect DEWA’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in project management.

Looking towards 2025, DEWA plans to introduce new training programmes focusing on construction management, AI in project management, and agility-focused courses. These initiatives aim to meet the evolving needs of the industry while reinforcing innovative approaches to project execution.
