DEWA Pioneers In Launching Its Smart App On Apple Vision Pro For Superior Customer Services

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has taken a significant leap forward by introducing its smart app on Apple Vision Pro glasses. This initiative marks DEWA as the first utility globally to offer its services via a platform that integrates both augmented and virtual reality. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing customer service by leveraging the advanced capabilities of Apple Vision Pro, thereby supporting DEWA's commitment to boosting smart service adoption and accessibility across diverse digital platforms.

DEWA's integration with Apple Vision Pro offers customers a comprehensive suite of services. Users can log into the app through various authentication methods, including UAE Pass, traditional username and password, or eyeprint verification. The app allows customers to select their main account for inquiries and displays visual data through an innovative virtual touch and drag feature. Moreover, it facilitates bill payments via Apple Pay, provides access to the Smart Living dashboard, and delivers detailed consumption reports through the My Sustainable Living Programme. These reports offer comparisons with similar households and present personalized tips to improve consumption efficiency.

"We align our efforts with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasizing that smart government services should proactively reach out to citizens rather than waiting for them to seek these services," stated Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA. He further highlighted the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, towards transforming Dubai into a fully smart city. Al Tayer emphasized DEWA's dedication to adopting rapid technological advancements to offer innovative, secure, and proactive services accessible 24/7 across various customer-friendly channels.

DEWA's commitment to utilizing disruptive technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as generative AI and metaverse applications, has significantly contributed to a smart service adoption rate of 99.2%. In 2023 alone, DEWA witnessed approximately 12.5 million digital transactions conducted by its customers, marking a 25% increase from the 10 million transactions recorded in 2022. This surge in digital engagement underscores DEWA's pivotal role in realizing the wise leadership's vision of establishing Dubai as the smartest and happiest city globally. The digital transactions spanned across DEWA’s website with over 2.1 million transactions, its smart app with more than 3.2 million transactions, and an additional 6.8 million transactions executed through various digital channels in collaboration with DEWA's partners.

This innovative approach not only streamlines the customer experience but also aligns with Dubai's broader objectives to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and happiness among its residents. By embracing cutting-edge technology like Apple Vision Pro glasses for utility services, DEWA is setting a new standard for utilities worldwide in customer service excellence.
