DEWA And HBMSU Collaborate To Empower Female Leadership Through 'For Her' Training Initiative

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has introduced the fourth edition of the For Her programme. This initiative, in partnership with Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), is themed ‘Women Create Tomorrow: A Vision that Transcends the Present’. It aims to enhance leadership and innovation skills among DEWA's female staff.

Over nine months, 25 participants will engage in interactive workshops and training sessions. These sessions, led by HBMSU experts, will cover topics like transformational leadership, effective communication, change management, emotional intelligence, and institutional innovation.

Empowering Female Leadership with DEWA and HBMSU

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasised their commitment to empowering Emirati women. He stated that DEWA collaborates with various sectors to support UAE’s model for women's empowerment. "Our outstanding initiatives are designed to keep pace with the nation’s development and ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to contribute to building a better future," he said.

Al Tayer highlighted the importance of these efforts in fostering inclusive societies and sustainable economies. He noted that DEWA supports its Women's Committee in encouraging female employees to grow professionally and academically. Their contributions are crucial as they represent the UAE at national and global forums.

Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, spoke about their ongoing collaboration with DEWA. He described it as a strategic partnership aimed at empowering Emirati women in institutional transformation and future-making roles. "The programme represents a pioneering national model for developing women’s competencies," he remarked.

Dr. Al Awar also mentioned their mission to promote lifelong learning and smart leadership principles. By working with partners like DEWA, they prepare talent capable of innovation across vital sectors while inspiring new generations of female leaders.

This initiative aligns with DEWA's vision of becoming a globally leading sustainable corporation committed to achieving net zero by 2050. The programme not only equips women with essential skills but also strengthens their presence in decision-making positions.

The For Her programme exemplifies how strategic partnerships can drive positive change by equipping women with the knowledge needed for leadership roles. Through such initiatives, DEWA continues to support the growth of prosperous societies driven by knowledge and sustainability.
