Makkah Deputy Governor Inspects Holy Sites To Ensure Readiness For Hajj Season

Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, recently conducted a preliminary tour of the Holy Sites to assess preparations for the upcoming Hajj season in 1445 AH. This inspection was carried out under the directives of the Kingdom's leadership and with guidance from Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of the Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz.

Accompanied by officials from relevant authorities, Prince Saud bin Mishaal visited Arafat, where he received an explanation about the four accommodation centres in the Holy Sites. Two centres in Arafat can accommodate 9,300 Hajj pilgrims. A centre in Al-Muaisim has a capacity of 6,000 pilgrims and includes three service buildings. The fourth centre in Muzdalifah can accommodate up to 28,000 pilgrims and consists of five residential, administrative, and healthcare buildings.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal inspected models of the pilgrims' camps in Arafat and reviewed ongoing preparations. He then visited Mount Arafat and learned about a project to renovate the surrounding areas, covering over 200,000 square meters. The project includes public bus stops, lighting for the mount and its surroundings, water sprinkling poles, and drinking areas.

The deputy governor also visited a project aimed at improving descent stations in Muzdalifah, which covers an area of 27,000 square meters. This project was implemented to accommodate up to 18,000 additional pilgrims. He was briefed on an initiative by Kidana Development Company in collaboration with the third sector to provide green areas.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal was informed about the first phase of the Holy Sites path project, an eco-friendly initiative that contributes to reducing temperatures. It involves developing courtyards of the Masha'r Haram Mosque and rest areas in Muzdalifah. The project also includes measures to facilitate movement for elderly and disabled pedestrians, aiming to provide improved services and convenience for pilgrims.

During his visit to Mina, Prince Saud bin Mishaal inspected a development project in the valley covering 33,000 square meters. He received a briefing on this project designed according to the latest technical specifications while considering the architectural identity of the Holy Sites. The area can accommodate up to 37,000 pilgrims.

Concluding his tour, Prince Saud bin Mishaal visited the Government Departments Complex in Al Mashair. He was briefed on preparations and readiness to provide services to government systems not directly serving pilgrims. The complex covers an area of 1.1 million square meters and accommodates over 10,000 employees. It has contributed to saving about 23% of Mina's area, which has been utilised to accommodate more pilgrims.
