DCT Abu Dhabi Partners With Frieze To Launch Frieze Abu Dhabi Art Fair In November 2026

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Frieze have announced a partnership to transform Abu Dhabi Art into Frieze Abu Dhabi. This marks a significant development in the emirate's global art presence. For 17 years, Abu Dhabi Art has been a key cultural event, drawing international collectors and showcasing the emirate’s vibrant art scene.

Frieze Abu Dhabi will debut in November 2026 at Manarat Al Saadiyat. It will feature leading galleries from the Middle East and beyond. Deutsche Bank, as Global Lead Partner, will continue its support, maintaining its collaboration with all Frieze fairs globally. The 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Art will proceed as planned before the transition.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, stated, "For nearly two decades, Abu Dhabi Art has reflected our vision of culture as a driver of dialogue, connection, and creativity." He emphasized that Frieze Abu Dhabi builds on these achievements, reinforcing the emirate’s status as a cultural capital.

The fair will maintain its focus on discovery and dialogue, rooted in global perspectives. It aims to showcase new artistic practices and artist-led projects while connecting the region with the wider art world. This approach aligns with Abu Dhabi’s commitment to nurturing both established and emerging artists.

Simon Fox, CEO of Frieze, expressed honour in collaborating with DCT Abu Dhabi. He noted that the emirate’s cultural leadership provides a strong foundation for this partnership.
