DCD Invites Submissions For The 2025 Damj Award To Promote Inclusive Excellence In Abu Dhabi
The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi has opened submissions for the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion, known as Damj. This initiative is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Applications are accepted until September 30, 2025, via the official website: www.Damj.gov.ae.
"Damj" is a pioneering award in the region, focusing on recognising institutions that promote inclusive practices for people of determination. It is a crucial element of Abu Dhabi’s strategy to create an accessible society with equal opportunities for all. The award encourages organisations to showcase their commitment to inclusion and align with Abu Dhabi’s vision.

Dr Layla Al Hyas, Executive Director of the Family and Child Welfare Sector at the Department of Community Development, stated: "The Damj Award is a powerful force for advancing a society that values potential over limitations. We strive to cultivate an institutional culture that recognises inclusion as a collective responsibility—one that requires clear vision, active collaboration, and genuine commitment to meaningful change."
The award aims to inspire institutional innovation by highlighting successful models that can be replicated across the emirate. It emphasises that recognition should inspire positive change and enhance cross-sector collaboration towards an inclusive future. Participating entities are encouraged to align their initiatives with the award’s pillars and provide evidence of impact and sustainability.
Entities participating in the Damj Award have an opportunity to enhance their reputation by demonstrating their commitment to inclusion. The award opens doors for recognition and collaboration across sectors, promoting long-term impact. Organisations are urged to participate and showcase their contributions towards building a more inclusive Abu Dhabi.
Submissions should reflect accessible practices and demonstrate how efforts can be scaled or sustained over time. By aligning with the award’s criteria, organisations can strengthen their applications and highlight their role in fostering an inclusive society.
This initiative not only recognises achievements but also serves as a catalyst for inspiring positive change within institutions. By participating in Damj, organisations contribute to creating a more equitable future for all members of society in Abu Dhabi.
