Dakakeen Shopping Festival Lights Up Sharjah's Khorfakkan Amphitheatre This Ramadan

The Sharjah Government Media Bureau has announced the return of the annual ‘Dakakeen’ Festival, set to light up the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre with its vibrant marketplace for the second consecutive year. Starting this Thursday, the festival will run until April 14, welcoming visitors from 8 pm to midnight during the holy month of Ramadan. This event promises to transform the Roman-style architectural marvel into a hub of traditional Ramadan shopping and cultural festivities.

With over 34 shops, boutiques, and numerous kiosks participating, the Dakakeen Festival offers a wide array of products crafted and sold by local entrepreneurs, traders, and families. Attendees can look forward to exploring fashion items, including clothing and accessories, perfumes, incense, women's jewelry, and children's toys. Moreover, the festival will feature popular restaurants and cafes catering to diverse tastes, making it an ideal destination for families, residents, and tourists alike.

Dakakeen Festival Returns to Sharjah

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, expressed his enthusiasm for the festival's return, citing the success of its debut edition which attracted over 30,000 visitors. The decision to host Dakakeen at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre Square again was influenced by the large turnout and significant public interest observed last year.

The Dakakeen Festival aims to support local entrepreneurs' industries and home-grown projects by enterprising and productive families. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance community and institutional partnership in the emirate. Allay emphasized the festival's role in showcasing products by local families and entrepreneurs while providing a family-friendly environment with designated safe areas for children.

As a platform for discovering new and novel products alongside traditional handicrafts, Dakakeen contributes significantly to strengthening the local economy. It also boosts social activities and encourages entrepreneurs to elevate the marketing standards of their products. The festival represents not just a shopping experience but an opportunity for cultural exchange and community building within Sharjah.
