Cyprus's Charis Constantin And Britain's Amy Eisman Dominate At Abu Dhabi Silver Award Competition

The Abu Dhabi Silver Award competition recently concluded at the Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club. This event was part of the three-day Abu Dhabi International Shooting Championship, organised by the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office in collaboration with the UAE Shooting Federation and FITASC. Over 300 shooters from 30 countries participated in this prestigious championship.

Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office, along with Jean-François Palinkas, President of FITASC, crowned the winners. The total prize value exceeded AED 100,000, with silver medals weighing a combined 14.45 kilograms awarded across six categories: Men, Women, Juniors, Seniors, Veterans, and Masters.

In the Men's category, Cyprus's Charis Constantin emerged victorious with 99 points. France's Mathieu Demas secured second place with 98 points, while Charles Badou from France finished third with 97 points. The Women's category saw British shooter Amy Eisman clinch first place with 96 points.

In the Juniors category, French shooter Hugo Pardo led with 98 points. Hungarian Mat Fass followed closely with 94 points, and Russian Konstantin Vesban took third place with 92 points. In the Masters category, Hungary's Milay Farakas topped the standings with 86 points.

Italy's Enrico De Tomas dominated the Senior category by scoring a perfect 100 points. Spain's Juan Valero came second with 98 points, while Britain's Gary Mickle secured third place with 97 points. In the Veterans category, Italy's Claudio Germano claimed first place with 96 points.

The total weight of silver medals distributed was as follows: Men received 4.50 kilograms; Women were awarded 2.25 kilograms; Juniors got 1.15 kilograms; Seniors received 2.35 kilograms; Veterans were given 2.15 kilograms; and Masters took home 2.05 kilograms.

Organisational Success

Al Neyadi expressed pride in the success of the Abu Dhabi Silver Award competition. He highlighted its role in continuing the achievements of the inaugural Abu Dhabi International Shotgun Championship under H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan's patronage.

"The championship solidified the UAE's position as a destination capable of hosting major international shooting events," said Al Neyadi. He praised Al Ain for its organisational and technical readiness to host such significant events.
