Sharjah Human Resources Department Organises Cybersecurity Forum To Enhance Information Security Governance
The Sharjah Human Resources Department, in collaboration with the Sharjah Cybersecurity Centre, hosted the second cybersecurity forum in Sharjah. The event took place at the Holy Quran Academy and saw participation from senior officials and representatives of government agencies. This initiative is part of efforts to enhance understanding of information security as a comprehensive system involving governance, management, and practices.
Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, highlighted that "organising this forum reflects Sharjah's future vision aimed at establishing an institutional culture based on governance, excellence, and conscious risk management, and enhancing information security within the government system, as it is a fundamental pillar for ensuring service continuity and data protection."

Engineer Abdulnasser Bukhatir from the Sharjah Cybersecurity Centre led key sessions during the forum. He discussed four main themes: governance of roles and responsibilities, corporate risk management, service continuity, and information security policies. These themes formed the framework for discussions at the event.
Bukhatir explained how governance clarifies tasks and reduces overlap in functions. It integrates risk management with strategic decisions, ensures service continuity during crises, enhances data protection, and improves secure use of government information. This approach aims to boost efficiency in information security across government bodies.
Bukhatir stressed the forum's role in unifying efforts to raise cyber awareness and ensure operational protection in Sharjah's government sector. He stated: "Governance is the core of any mature information security architecture. At the Sharjah Cybersecurity Center, we are committed to ensuring that all government entities operate within a unified and secure system, built on reliable and tested standards."
The forum served as a platform for exchanging experiences among leaders in government agencies. It aimed to increase awareness about best practices in information security while building a shared understanding of data protection's importance. This contributes to developing a safe digital work environment.
Commitment to Digital Transformation
The Human Resources Department continues to support initiatives that align with Sharjah Government's smart transformation goals. These efforts aim to enhance competitiveness within government systems while achieving comprehensive development visions for the emirate.
The event concluded with participants exchanging insights and recommendations. They emphasised integrating government efforts to build a secure digital system while enhancing readiness of information infrastructure for data protection and efficient service delivery in Sharjah.
