Culture And Education Ministries Collaborate To Launch Arts And Culture Academy In Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has introduced the "Arts and Culture Academy," marking the first government-operated institution of its kind in Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to discover and nurture cultural talents among students in general education. The academy will initially operate in Riyadh and Jeddah, enrolling students from the fourth grade of primary school and the first grade of intermediate school.
The academy's curriculum combines accredited academic courses with specialised cultural programs, creating an engaging learning environment. Initially, it targets students who show talent in areas like drawing, theatre and acting, music performance, and singing. The academy plans to expand to include all educational levels and reach more regions across the Kingdom.

Students interested in joining can apply through an online registration link: https://engage.moc.gov.sa/cultural-talents-schools/#faq. The admission process involves three stages: online registration, a performance evaluation and personal interview, followed by notification of admission results. Admission depends on passing all evaluation stages and seat availability.
The academy offers a standard curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education alongside intensive cultural programs. The daily schedule balances academic subjects with creative cultural education. Classes are divided into two sessions: mornings for academic lessons and afternoons for cultural activities.
The academy will commence operations in the 2025/2026 academic year at two locations: Al-Nakheel district in Riyadh for boys and Al-Sheraa district in Jeddah for girls. This initiative represents a significant step towards integrating arts into education, aiming to foster a new generation of culturally aware individuals.
This pioneering effort is expected to play a crucial role in identifying and developing young talents within Saudi Arabia's educational system. By providing a platform that merges traditional academics with cultural enrichment, the academy seeks to cultivate well-rounded individuals equipped for future challenges.
