Cultural Investment Conference 2025 Launches In Riyadh Under HRH Prince Mohammed's Patronage

The Cultural Investment Conference 2025 commenced at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Ministry of Culture organised this event, drawing over 1,500 attendees and more than 150 speakers, including key decision-makers and cultural and investment leaders from Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan announced plans to establish the Riyadh University of Arts. This institution aims to become a global leader in arts education by collaborating with top international academic and cultural bodies. The minister expressed a goal for the university to rank among the world's top 50 arts institutions.

Cultural Investment Conference Begins in Riyadh

Since Vision 2030's inception, Saudi Arabia's cultural sector has seen significant growth. The sector now contributes 1.6% to the GDP, employs 234,000 people, and received nearly $2 billion in financial support in 2024. Infrastructure investments have also reached unprecedented levels, surpassing SAR81 billion.

The conference will host over 38 dialogue sessions and workshops across two days. Notable participants include Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, Sotheby's CEO Charles Stewart, and Art Basel CEO Noah Horowitz. Discussions will explore cultural investment trends, creative industry financing experiences, risk reduction strategies, and emerging market opportunities.

The private sector plays a crucial role in this initiative. The conference is set to facilitate the signing of 89 agreements worth an estimated SAR5 billion. These agreements underscore the importance of private investment in driving cultural growth within Saudi Arabia.

Key topics include artificial intelligence's role in cultural financing, interactive technologies' impact on culture, philanthropy's importance in growth support, creative entrepreneurship promotion, and global cultural investment funds exploration.

A Global Platform for Cultural Investment

This inaugural conference positions itself as a premier global platform showcasing culture as a viable investment opportunity. It aligns with Vision 2030's objectives to diversify Saudi Arabia's economy while enhancing Riyadh's status as a global hub for culture and investment.

The event highlights how strategic partnerships can propel the Kingdom’s cultural ambitions forward. By fostering collaboration between local and international entities, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its cultural infrastructure and capabilities significantly.
