Cultural Development Fund Partners With Red Sea International Film Festival To Sponsor Red Sea Souk
The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) has announced its sponsorship of the Red Sea Souk at the upcoming Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) in Jeddah, from December 5 to 14. This event is a significant part of the Kingdom's National Culture Strategy, which includes 16 cultural sub-sectors such as film. The CDF's involvement underscores its dedication to enhancing Saudi Arabia's cultural landscape.
For three years, the CDF has supported the Saudi film sector, aligning with its ESG investment strategy. This commitment aims to improve quality of life and boost the economy by empowering creators and providing Cultural Financing for businesses. The Red Sea Souk serves as a vibrant hub for filmmakers and industry professionals, fostering creativity and collaboration within the film industry.

At RSIFF, the CDF will engage in various activities, including hosting a pavilion at the Red Sea Souk. It will facilitate communication with filmmakers and host a private networking reception for top local and international filmmakers and companies. Additionally, it will participate in networking sessions and workshops within RSIFF programs.
The CDF plans to share knowledge about the needs of Saudi Arabia's film sector during these events. It will highlight funding solutions ranging from enablement services to financial services like Cultural Financing. This initiative aims to support filmmakers by providing essential resources for their projects.
The fourth edition of RSIFF will take place in Al-Balad, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Jeddah. The festival celebrates regional cultural heritage while focusing on Saudi Arabia's cinematic future under "The New Home of Film" theme. It continues to attract global talent, audiences, and industry leaders.

Significant Financial Contributions
To date, CDF's financial support for the film industry has surpassed SAR240 million across various businesses within the film value chain. This investment has significantly boosted the prosperity of Saudi Arabia's film sector by creating jobs for local talent and positively impacting the economy.
As they look ahead, CDF remains committed to investing in cultural sectors where film plays an essential role. Their goal is to ensure that these sectors thrive both locally and globally. This sponsorship reaffirms CDF's dedication to advancing cultural initiatives in Saudi Arabia while nurturing local talent growth.
