CST Launches Registration For Third Cohort Of Regulatory Sandbox To Foster Innovation

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has opened registration for the third cohort of its Regulatory Sandbox. This initiative allows participants to test innovative products, solutions, and business models in three key areas: Communications, Space, and Technology. It utilises six technologies: Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Space Technologies, Communications Technologies, and Immersive Tech.

The Sandbox aims to foster a flexible environment that supports the launch of new business models and high-quality services. It is designed to assist entrepreneurs and innovators in the fields of Communications, Space, and Technology. The initiative also seeks to enhance the inclusivity of products available in the market.

CST Opens Registration for Third Cohort

CST encourages entrepreneurs, investors, and companies from both local and international backgrounds to apply for this cohort. Applications are open until specific dates via their official website. This effort is part of CST's ongoing mission to enable innovative services that contribute to the digital economy's growth.

In previous cohorts, CST successfully completed eight tech products in the first round. The second cohort saw 15 tech products developed by both local and international companies. This represents an 88% increase in successful product completions compared to the first cohort.

The number of participants also grew by 110%, with a notable 25% rise in international participation compared to earlier rounds. These achievements highlight the Sandbox's role in creating job opportunities and boosting GDP as Saudi Arabia's technology market reached SAR101 billion in 2024.

Invitation for Participation

CST invites all relevant investors as well as local and international companies to join this initiative. By participating, they can contribute to advancing innovative services that align with the Kingdom's vision for a thriving digital economy.

This initiative not only supports technological advancements but also plays a crucial role in economic development by creating job opportunities within Saudi Arabia's growing technology sector.
