CST's GameMode Report Reveals Enhanced Online Gaming Performance In Saudi Arabia

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has released its "GameMode" report for the second quarter (Q2), comparing the performance of telecommunications service providers in Saudi Arabia for popular online games. The report revealed an 85% improvement in online game performance compared to Q2 of 2023 and named "STC" as the Platinum Game Operator for the first half of 2024.

The report also highlighted the performance of service providers during the Esports World Cup 2024. It showed that download speeds for online games across popular gaming stores in Saudi Arabia have increased, with all telecom service providers achieving 100% performance on STEAM. Additionally, "Mobily" and "Salam" led on PlayStation with 100%, while "Mobily" also topped XBOX with 100%.

STC and Mobily exhibited the highest latency performance in seven games: Call of Duty, EA Sports FC, Fortnite, League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, and HALO INFINITE. STC led in eight games including Mobile Legends, PUBG, Counter Strike, Dota2, STARCRAFT, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Rainbow Six Siege. Mobily was top in FREE FIRE and HONOR OF KINGS. STC, Mobily, and Salam were all leading in Battlefield.

The report included guidelines to improve internet connection quality for online games. It provided tips on home network setup and network device efficiency. It also outlined steps to participate in the "GameMode" initiative by registering for a "Meqyas FTTH" device. This device helps users understand internet performance for popular apps and online games.

The "GameMode" initiative aims to enhance competitiveness among telecom service providers by offering gamers the best experience. It raises market transparency by publishing data and indicator results. Investors and interested parties can view market performance indicators in Saudi Arabia through this initiative.
