CST Concludes Digital Technology Forum 2024 Highlighting Collaboration For A Sustainable Future

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) recently wrapped up the Digital Technology Forum 2024. The event, themed "Synergizing for a Sustainable Digital Future," focused on fostering collaboration between government and private sectors in technology. CST highlighted significant advancements in tech markets during the forum.

Saudi Arabia's technology market reached a size of 91 billion SAR in 2023, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 11% over five years. Additionally, the number of tech companies listed on the stock market rose to 20, with a combined market capitalization surpassing 148 billion SAR.

This year's forum celebrated several achievements through awards. The Co-Innovation Award recognized three innovative tech products developed collaboratively by service providers and end users: DocCerts, Faseeh, and Muneer. The Tech Excellence Award was also presented to companies contributing to local tech content development.

Furthermore, the Leading Tech Companies for Empowering Women Award acknowledged outstanding companies that create empowering environments for women. These awards underscore CST's commitment to promoting innovation and inclusivity within the tech sector.

The forum featured four panel discussions and presentations focusing on collaboration opportunities in Saudi Arabia's technology sector. Topics included ecosystem collaboration to boost investment, regulatory collaboration to enhance technology, skills development in the technological field, and future digital infrastructure development.

Experts from both local and global backgrounds participated in these sessions. They discussed how collaboration can lead to shared visions for developing digital infrastructure, opening new markets, and enhancing investment in future technology fields.

Venture Capital Achievements

Saudi Arabia achieved first place in the Middle East and North Africa region for venture capital value. This accomplishment highlights the country's growing influence and success in attracting significant investments within the technology sector.

CST organizes this annual forum alongside the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The event aims to stay abreast of emerging trends and developments within the technology industry.
