CST Reveals Winners Of The Tech Innovation Challenge 2024 Promoting AI And IoT Innovations
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) recently revealed the winners of the Tech Innovation Challenge 2024. The victorious teams included Hams. AI, Sammu, VOIR, Challenge The Space, Ebda, Sanad AI, Farm Care, Chromaero, and Moraqeb. This challenge was organised in partnership with the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), Huawei, and the Artificial Intelligence Governance Association.
The initiative's primary goal is to foster innovation and develop tech products by encouraging entrepreneurs and investing in national capabilities. This effort aims to boost GDP by increasing the number of local companies specialising in emerging technologies. The CST highlighted that this year's challenge attracted over 900 participants from 290 teams.

The competition concentrated on artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics within communications, space, and technology sectors. These areas are crucial for advancing technological capabilities in Saudi Arabia. The winners were honoured by Raed Alfayez, Deputy Governor for the Technology Sector at CST, alongside Ibrahim Neyaz, CEO of NTDP.
Present at the award ceremony were CST Governor Mohammed Altamimi and Eng. Haitham AlOhali, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology. Several senior officials also attended to celebrate the achievements of these innovative teams.
The Tech Innovation Challenge builds upon the success of previous IoT Challenges. Over three editions, more than 3,000 individuals participated in these challenges. They submitted over 1,500 ideas offering innovative solutions to various market challenges across Saudi Arabia.
This ongoing initiative reflects a commitment to nurturing technological advancements and supporting local talent in developing cutting-edge solutions for pressing issues in diverse fields.
